At the end of June, we held our annual Wing Field Day competition, which sees cadets from 27 squadrons compete in many disciplines.
They compete in teams to see which squadron is victorious in drill, banner drill, shooting, first aid, leadership, ensemble, media, STEM, Bletchley Park and aircraft recognition.
Everyone had a great day and thanks to the organisers and to RAF Henlow for hosting us.
This year our winning squadron was 207 (Cranfield). Well done to the team who have worked so hard to make this happen!
Wing Field Day brings the best out of the cadets that take part, and it was great to see so many cadets involved in the day. The event also gives me the opportunity to present Wing awards into front of cadets and staff from across the Wing on final parade, and it was a pleasure to see the awards going across all sectors, staff and cadets.
Thank you to Lt Col Alison Falcon, Deputy Executive East Anglia RFCA, who attended the event, allowing me the opportunity to showcase the Wing is operation and the chance to talk to staff during her walk around the site. Lt Col Falcon also presented some of the Wing awards on final parade.
My personal thanks go out to Sqn Ldr Brad Wright for organising, along with his team that made things happen on the day. And thank you all the staff who ran and assisted the individual activities, without your help the event would not have been possible.
Here’s to Wing Field Day 2025.
