Cadets from Squadrons across Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing came together to attend this year’s Central and East Region Athletics Championships at Grantham Stadium.
Eleven cadets volunteered to represent The Wing, and they were;
FS Edwards and Cdt Catteral of 105 (Cambourne), Sgt Chase of 207 (Cranfield), Cpl Venn and Cdt Gibson of 2482 (Henlow), Cdt Gibson from 2482 (Henlow) and Cpl Asimov (104) City of Cambridge Squadrons. Also with us in force were Cdt Case-Upton, Cpl Munday, Cdt Hughes, Cdt Elstow and Cdt Phillips from 1094 (Ely ) Squadron.
All the cadets tried their very best with Sgt Chase winning Gold in the 100 metres and silver in the high jump, with FS Edwards winning Gold in Long Jump and Silver in the Javelin, narrowly missing out on Bronze in the 100 metres.
Sqn Ldr Bierton and Wing Commander Bradshaw attended and presented medals to the cadets from across the region.

This may have been a small team by Wing standards, but the cadets entered as many events as possible and tried their best at every event they entered. Well done everyone!
